Remark­ably, the Aus­tralian Clas­si­fi­ca­tion (i.e. ‘cen­sor­ship’) Board has man­aged to do it to them­selves. They have ‘banned’, a com­put­er-con­sole game that has been passed­with­out cuts in the USA and UK, appar­ent­ly because it con­tains the same hor­ror fan­tasies that were explic­it in the cult movies from which they derive

Aus­tralian adults (over 18) must be allowed to see and read and think what they wish (includ­ing thoughts about the exot­ic impale­ment of the Cen­sors). No oth­er stan­dard should be tol­er­at­ed in a mod­ern, open soci­ety. The Cen­sor­ship Board is an ene­my of such soci­ety in Aus­tralia. It should be shut-down.
