My co-editors on this project, which began early last year, are Andrew Stoler, Director of “IIBE&L”:http://www.iibel.adelaide.edu.au/ and Patrick Low, Director of Development and Economic Research at “WTO”:www.wto.org. The case study authors are academics, officials, expert analysts and businessassociation executives in about 30 developing countries (and one or two developed economies) including strong representation from North, South and East Asia, the Pacific, Africa and Latin America. We hope the book, to be published by Cambridge University Press, will be read by teachers, analysts, journalists and anyone interested in how the WTO and the trading system really works. I don’t know of any other source-book like it on WTO. It will be a valuable resource for, say, an Executive seminar or a post-graduate one-semester course on the trading system. To promote it’s use for that purpose, I’m also preparing a ‘trainers manual’ that I hope will be available shortly after Managing the Challenges appears. The manual will provide background information, data, discussion and further reading resources for students. More on the trainers’ manual later. Here are the working titles of the draft chapters (with preliminary sub-titles):
