Market Access Map is a subscription database that provides up-to-date information on WTO member economies’ ‘scheduled’ and applied tariff rates in about 170 economies, including preferential rates and anti-dumping duties. Almost any business in a developing country can get free access thanks to international donors; others have to pay subscription rates around the $US1200 p.a. mark.
The training guide at http://www.macmap.info that Inquit helped to build is, however, free for all users. It will give you a pretty good idea of the power of Market Access Map, especially for
- making competitive tariff comparisons between markets, and
- simulating the impact of a tariff-cut formula in the Doha Round of WTO negotiations
